Minutes from the 11.7.19 General Meeting

This is October general meeting of the Topanga Community Center for the 2019 term. All members and prospective members are welcome to attend. The meeting will be held at the Topanga Community Center, 1440 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd, Topanga, CA 90290, beginning at 7pm.

I. CALL TO ORDER

II. READING OF TCC MISSION STATEMENT: The TCC is a community-oriented, non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to protect, maintain, upgrade and enhance the Community House and the grounds entrusted to its care. The TCC is dedicated to serving the Community of Topanga by providing access and support for philanthropic, educational, and community activities and services.

    • Wants to get the Westinghouse Generator 12,000/9500 for $1000
    • New Fire place screen
    • Looking at materials for hand rail down to the oak tree

VIII. UNFINISHED / ONGOING BUSINESS

  • Sports
    • Soccer–Youth and adults
    • Softball Sundays
  • Swap Meet moving, is moved to Jan. 25th but we need a rain date
  • Senior Dinner – December 1st
  • Silent DJs – Kelly wants to find a date in Jan or Feb, the cost is $2300
  • Member drive – better signage is needed
  • Recruiting volunteers—need to get more
  • Family Holiday Party – Friday Dec. 6th 5-8 pm
  • Dayna in charge of hot cocoa and cookies
  • Membership Drive, Lisa will pick a date and talk to the board at the board mtg. on Thurs. 21st
  • Topanga Days- Nonie showed final poster
    • Headliner list narrowed down via pricetag
  • Rentals – Franka did some # crunching and we may need to possibly raise the base rates. TBD at board meeting
    • We need to look at cleaning fees & make sure that there is no double dipping on cleaning, especially for Memorials
  • Dayna asked about how much to charge TEP for their silent auction fundraiser for the house rental.  She needs to put together a contract.  Decision TBD
